Superintendent of Foxborough
Ill, MILL POND DAM - MANSFIELD - BOB JONES - Grant money was received,
but due to other circumstances some of the money was spent on another Dam in town.
The remaining money will be returned to the Mill Pond Dam fund and the Town
Manager promised that additional money would be raised to complete the project. The
permits need to be updated and a new figure of cost should be calculated. At the Town
meeting in the spring a speaker needs to give basic reasons for why the project is so
important and should take place as soon as possible. The project also needs to be done
at good standards to avoid any future problems. Possibilities of a press release before
the Town Meeting were mentioned. This topic will stay on the agenda to discuss
further.
I'V. UPDATE ON DEP GRANT -Joan Sozio and Leonard Flynn met with Pat Rogers
regarding the grant money for research along the Canoe River and they have not heard
anything since.
V. GREEN BELT PROJECT - UPDATE ON PROJECT -Still waiting for Mass
Highway to return the deed to the land abutting Route 495. Leonard will give them a
call again.
In Sharon .... King Philip Rock together with Rattlesnack Hill will be on a special town
meeting on November 13, 2000. This piece of land may be added to Greenbelt if voted
to be purchased by the Town. Fred W. Martin, P.H.D an Archeologist has been doing
research in the area.
The greenbelt map needs to be updated by Maurice with a Mansfield parcel. Any other
new information should also be forwarded to Maurice.
Vt. RECOGNITION EVENT - ANNUAL AWARENESS DAX - MAY, 2001
- To highlight the Green Belt Acquisition and thank all participants
Location and speaker selection
Anne's Place is the preferred location for this event if they are able to accommodate
CRAAC. Some money needs to be raised for Refreshments. Pat Rogers gave us some
names of those to recognize and if there is anyone else please let us know. Hopes to get
Bob Durand as the guest speaker. Voted unanimously to send him a letter to invite him
to the event.
1111. DISCUSS POSSIBLE LAWN SEMINAR FOR SPRINC-r 2001
- Select location and discuss location
Everyone seemed to agree that it would be best to find a new speaker. Wayne is waiting
to hear back from a speaker who relates to the proper installation and use of sprinkler
systems. Mixed opinions on weather the CRAAC should stand behind sprinkler systems
being installed. Suggestions of possibly having two speakers. Needs to be discussed
further for possible locations and speakers. Everyone would like to see another seminar
take place again.
'/III. OTHER BUSINESS -
In The Main (DEP) Joan Sozio was recognized with Foxboro and the Patriots for helping
with the new water saving plans and the reuse policy.
