HomeMy WebLinkAboutCable Committee 05/01/1991THE MANSFIELD CABLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE A meeting of the MANSFIELD CABLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE was held on WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 1991 at 7:08 p.m. in the Mansfield High School library. Members present at the start of the meeting: Mr. Mohan Prasad Mr. John Swafford Mr. Bruce Gla,*er ' Mr. Dough Ronald DO Mr. Robert Scott Button Attorney Charles Mulcahy A motion was made by Douglas Ronald to hold on the election of officers until the full board was present. This motion was seconded by Scott Button; motion passed 5-0-0 A motion was made by Douglas Ronald to elect Mohan Prasad as acting Chairman, and Scott Button as the acting Clerk. The motion was seconded by Bruce Glazer; motion passed 3-0-0 At 7:10 lrt%s, Vicki Prasad joined the meeting. At this time the Chairman informed the committee that by a vote of the Mansfield Board of Selectmen the Mansfield Cable Advisory Committee has been authorized to work under the formal process and gather data in relation to the formal license process, at which time this committee(a will make a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen as to our findings. At 7:35 Selectmen Joe Pasquale joined the meeting. At 7:40 a motion was made by Bruce Glazer to move into executive session to discuss an item that could lead This motion was seconded by John Swafford; motion passed on a roll call vote 7-0-0. At 8:20 the committee reconvened into open session. At 8:21 Attorney Mulcahy left the meeting. page 2 MCAC A motion was made by John Swafford to nominate Mohan Prasad as Chairman. The motion was seconded by Joe Pasquale; motion passed 6-0-0 . A motion was made by Scott Button to nominate Douglas Ronald as Vice Chairman. The motion was seconded by Joe Pasquale; motion passed 6-0-0 . A motion was made by Vicki Prasad to nominate Scott Button as Clerk. This motion was seconded by Douglas Ronald; motion passed 6-0-0� Cc7R"P i At this time there was some discussion as to what is in the currant u7c ✓y� contract with MASSACHUSETTS CABLES --VISION SYSTEMS Joe PasauA1e requested that the clerk obtain seven copies s from the town hall. The committee agreed on the date of Tuesday May, 14 at 7:00 pm for the next meeting. A motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:11 pm was made by Scott Button. The motion was seconded by Joe Pasquale; motion passed on a roll call vote 7-0-0 . respectfully submitted, ROBERT SCOTT BUTTON CLERK THE MANSFIELD CABLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE EXECUTIVE SESSION The committee discussed several points in relation to the use of the interest generated from the principle to be used for the purpose of an ascertainment study. The corporate attorney Charles Mulcahy advised the committee that in his opinion the interest from the principle could be used to fund the Cable Advisory Committee. Chairman Prasad will work with attorney Mulcahy on the proper wording of a letter to be sent to CVI. A motion was made by the Chairman at 8:20 to return to open session. The motion passed on a roll call vote 7-0-0.
