Powers The Committee met with Bertram Cook, Building Inspector, for a short time. Cook discussed his needs for a new car. With figures jotted down, he explained mileage and use of the car. The Committee voted to hold this article. The Committee then proceeded to go over new ideas for the annual report. Some items discussed were bolder print, a graph showing how rates have increased and decreased over the years in the town, a new, humorous cover and one line to a page in the report. Also discussed were the recommendations, in that they are not extensive enough in printing. The Library Trustees joined the meeting at this point. Discussed were all items and articles and positions of librarians and assistants and their pay steps. The Head Librarian, as shown on the attached sheet, feels an increase in $1,030 should be recommended for as her position should coincide with that of a school position with Master's Degree, Step 6. Because of this new position, all other library positions would follow similarily. Mrs. Bradner discussed how the cost of living, expenses and steps all fell in line with her request for the increase of $1,030 for the Head Librarian's position. All items were gone over on the attached sheet. The state requires 19% help from town budget in order to get the State Aid that is given. Books and supplies expenses were also gone over. The Library Trustees are asking for a 12.25 increase as compared to last year's increase of 25%. C. Gross questioned the 605-5 Item - Furnishings, and the articles requested for. Discussion of Library hours and useage during those hours brought about no changes. The Library Trustees left the meeting at 9:0S P.M. The Committee then proceeded to move that Item 605-1 Library Expenses - $13,500 be passed for the FY 76/77 proposed money allocated for that expense. This was passed three to one. The Committee moved that $15,800 be budgeted for the Library's Expenses - 605-0. This was unanimously passed. The Committee adjourned the meeting at 10:25 P.M.
