Minutes of Meeting: 9/25/74
Call to Order: 7:35 p.m.
Members Present: David Clemmey
John Gilleran
Ronald Montaquila
New Business: 1. Finance Committee for the second time met with the
Board of Selectmen in an effort to appoint two new
members to the Finance Committee. The two new
members appointed were:
Mr. Gerald Najiar
Dr. Lymon Avery
These appointees will serve on the Finance Committee
until January 1, 1975:
2. 'A motion was made by John Gilleran and seconded by
Ronald Montaquila and voted unanimously by the
Finance Committee to record in the minutes that
after due notification to the Town Manager the
Finance Committee has not yet received the condition
of appropriation for June, 1974.
3. David Clemmey made a motion to notify the two new
members that a meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
October 3, 1974 at 7:30 p.m.' in the Town Hall. This
.motion was seconded by John Gilleran.
Vote: Present 3 Members
3 Ayes
Old Business: 1. Finance Committee discussed the police overtime
issue as a result of notification received that the
police overtime account would be expended before
years end. (see attachment 41 to minutes of 9/11/74
meeting)
Action:
The issue involves the merit of replacing
Sgt. Wynn with another experienced officer at
time and a half.

The Finance Committee views this as an unnecessary
expense but concedes that it is an administrative
decision under the jurisdiction of the Town Manager,
Police Department and Board of Selectmen.
Ronald Montaquila made a motion to forward a letter
to the Selectmen notifying them of our action in
this matter, this motion was seconded by John Gilleran.
Vote: 3 Ayes in Favor.
2. Next item on the agenda was the Fiscal Budget
preparation. The resAAting budget items agreed
upon so far were:
Association Dues $55.00
Transparency Sup. 50.00
Meetings & Semin. 125.00
3. David Clemmey made a motion to pay current dues to
the Massachusetts Association of Finance Committees
this was seconded by John Gilleran.
Voted: Present 3
3 Votes in favor.
Adjourned: 8:50 P.M.
