Fredrick Basch David Clemmey Ed Giardina Ron Montaquila This meeting was called to discuss the remaining outstanding transfer requests. Due to the absense of our Chairman, Ron Montaquila made a motion for Fred Basch to reside as Chairman for this meeting. This motion was seconded by David Clemmey New Business: The remaining outstanding transfer requests for discussion l included: $10,317.89 - Acct. 525, Street Lighting 447.88 - Acct. 350, Fire Department Salaries 100.00 - Acct. 411, Dog Officer' The above transfers are attached and numbered as they appear above. Action taken on the above transfer request is summarized below: Both the Fire Department Salaries and the Dog Officer Expense transfer were unanimously approved; this left$7763.66 remaining in the Reserve Fund. Since the transfer request for Street Lighting is a significant amount it requires further comment: To begin with at best we could only transfer the remaining balance of $7763.66 to this account leaving the balance of this'amount to be abatted or left as an unpaid bill for next years Town Meeting. The FinCom voted not to transfer the remaining balance of the Reserve Fund $7763.66 to account #525.0 Street Lighting. FINANCE COMMITTEE TOWN OF MANSFIELD JULY 9, 1974 --2- The reasoh being that the Town Manager and Selectmen were aware in April that the current funds were overdrawn and waited until the last possible minute to notify the Finance Committee of this problem The Finance Committee will not be used as a scapegoat for mishandled problems. The light plant can handle this billing with little or no adverse effect` j Jt" pl,t t 'Nuh The Finance Committee recommends that this a Wn bei.nc tided at a special or Annual Town Meeting as an unpaid bill. other notes of interest concerning insurance policy coverage is given in attachment #5- A TRUE COPY Ronald R. This is very noticeable was increased in that the appraised values on all our buildings appraisal 20 or 30 per cent depending on the date o£ the original full app = done late in 1971 or early in 1972 by the General Adjustment Company. Even with the addition of the power substation, kindergarten, and the new Town Hall/police Station, and the increased appraised. values, the proposed premiums are only slightly above what the town paid in 1973 premiums.
