Roger Dotson was appointed Secretary of the Finance Committee. 2. The Secretary read the following correspondences A. Letter to FinComm froM,.�obert W. Powers with Newsletter from Assoc. of Town Finance Cbmm. & invoice for $70.00 for dues on next fiscal year enclosed, suggestion that Assoc. be sent an up-to-date mailing 'list. Actions Motion made to pay invoice and send up-to-date list. B..Copy of letter to Selectmen from Robert W. Powers resigning from Finance Committee effective 7/31/79. Actions Resignation so noted with regret. Motion made and seconded to nominate J. Jeffrey Ptaschnik to fill the vacancy - so voted. C. Memorandum.fxom Town Manager to Board of Selectmen dated July 20, 1979 with subjects New Budgeted Items. No action taken D. Memorandum from Town Manager to Board of Selectmen dated July 24, 1979, with subject Flag Purchases & cost projected. No action taken - suggestion made we research the status of flags purchased last year. E. Letter from Board of Selectmen to Roger D. Dotson officially notifying Mr. Dotson of his appointment to Finance Comm. No action taken. F. Memorandum fipm Town Manager to all department heads, boards, committees, and commissions dated July 20, 1979, with subject budgets. This memo thanking all departments for their co- operation during past fiscal- ;year. No.action taken. G Memorandum form Town Manager to Board of Selectmen & Finance Committee dated. July 24, 1979, subject: Insurance Account. Notice of pending transfer request and explanation of the request. No action taken - Discussion to wait until the transfer request is made. At this time the general impression was to wait until the account was fully depleted for transfer. 1 Finance Committee Meeting July 30, 1979 Cont H. Memorandum froom Town Manager to department heads, boards, & commissions dated July 13, 1979, with subject= 1980-81 Capital Improvement Program Request. No action taken. I. Memorandum from Board of Selectmen to all boards, committees & commissions dated July 20, 1979, with subject: Bi -monthly Meeting for Hoards. No action taken. 3. At this time the Finance Committee read, discussed and voted on the thirteen articles proposed for the Special Town Meeting, August 13, 1979: Article #1 - Voted to approve Article #2 - Voted to take under advisement Article #3 - Voted to approve Article #4 - Motion made not to approve and leave at $500.00 5 -yes 1 -no Article #5 - Voted to take under advisement Article #6 - it " to Article #7 - Voted to approve Article #8 - Voted to oppose Article #9 - Voted to take under advisement Article #10 - Voted to support Article #11 - Voted to support Article #12 - Voted to take under advisement Article #13 - No action taken at this time; will make recommendation when amount `bestii'ied'is known. Recommendation made that all money needed for the above be raised and appropriated. 4. Motion made & seconded to make Joseph Houghton Chairman Finance Committee for the coming year. So voted At this time Mr. Houghton appointed Mr. William Flannery as the Assistant Chairman. 5. Motion made & seconded to adjourn at 7:03 PM - so voted.
