FINANCECOMMITTEE
MINUTES
November 14, 1979
Town Hall
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman Joseph Houghton at 7:36 P.M.
Members Present: Joseph Houghton, David Clemmey, Colleen Cheney, John White
and Roger Dotson
Mr. Houghton officially welcomed Mr. White to the Finance Committee.
The minutes of the'October 15, 1979 meeting was read to the Committee.
Motion made by David Clommey to accept the Minutes as read.
Seconded by Coleen Cheney.
So voted ® unamious.
Mr. Houghton read the .Four,,.Article Warrent for the Special Town Meeting to be
held November 19, 1979.
Motion made by David Clemmey and seconded by Colleen Cheney that the Finance
Committee support articles 1 & 2 on the November 19th 1979 Special Town
Meeting Warrent. .
So voted ® Unamious.
No action was taken on articles 3 & 4 of the warrent.
David Clemmey gave a brief report on the Capital Improvement Committee
progress.
The committee then discussed the October 30, 1979 account trial balance.
No action taken by the Committee.
Clerk read the letter from State Representative Leon J. Lombardi dated
November 7, 1979 regarding the December 5th deadline on filing legislation.
No action taken by the Committee
Committee had a brief discussion of the December 1, 1979 First Annual Finance
Committee Conference to be held at the Sheraton Buxborough.
No action taken by the Committee.
Memorandum dated November 9, 1979 to Finance Committee from Mary T. with
the subject: Town Christmas party to be.held December 6, 1979.
Clerk suggest that any interested members should contact Mary by Nov. 16th.
Notification dated October 31', 1979 from Treasurer/Collector to Finance
Committee regarding the need of a transfer of approximately $400.00. Reason
for transfer is expenses paid -,which were got.included in the Budget.

Motion made by Colleen Cheney and seconded by David Clemmey to take
notification under advisement until transfer needed.
Received bill from the Mansfield Press dated October 11, 1979 for
$54.25 for the printing of 500 Finance Committee letterheads.
Motion made by David Clemmey and seconded by Roger Dotson to pay the
bill.
So voted - unamious.
Letter from Sandra Holske, Board of Health Chairman, dated November 1, 1979
regarding the possible need of a transfer for account #452-2 and
requesting acknowledgement of receipt and proper procedure to follow.
The Chairman instructed the clerk to acknowledge receipt of the letter and stated
that he would advise Mrs. Holske of the proper procedures.
The Finance Committee did feel that more informaion was necessary in order
to discuss the request.
No action taken by the Committee at this time.
Mr. Houghton announced that he would be calling a meeting for December 19, 1979.
Purpose of the meeting would be to finalize procedures for the Budget
preparation process.
Since there was not other business to come before the Committee at this time,
motion made to adjourn by Roger Dotson and seconded by David Clemmey.
So voted - Adjourned.
