WEDNESDAY, DECRMBER 9T,I983

Present: S. Quinn, J.Wkite, R. Dotsen, J. Brunelli, V.. Forte
Ckairman Quinn called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M.Corres-
pondence from the State regarding changes in taxation laws were
read and 'discussed. Most of these cleared ambiguities regarding
ex<emptiona,used in computing tax rates.
The Town Manager requested the Committee to aonaider,jeint most-
ings with Selectmen and Department heads when budget proposals
aro considered'ror.theme departments.Thie:proposal was unanimous-
ly rejected as cumbersome and unproductive in the past.However,
as meetings are public„ Selectmen are always welcome to join in
deliberationa.Meetings are to be hold Monday and Thursday with
SU�aday morning backup as needed.
Meeting recessed to hear Town Manager's budget presentation.After
the overview Selectmen stated that they have certain now options,
to consider before budget.doeisions can be made.. The Finanee,Comm•
ittee is invited to attend the meeting which will be hold ;tauary

The School Committee was represented at the budget prosentation
by David Clemmey.
