Pursuant to notice duly posted in accordance with the
Massachusetts Open Meeting Law, a meeting of the Mansfield
Finance Committee was held on February 5, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at
the Mansfield Town Hall. Present at the meeting were Charles
Joseph, Chairman, Joseph Pasquale, Ed McQuaid, Barbara Hagg,
Robert Lynch, Philip Smith and Gordon Penman. At the invitation
of the Committee, also present were the members of the School
Board.
After calling the meeting to order, the Committee and the
Board held a discussion of employee benefits as reflected in the
Municipal budget including the employee benefits for School
Department personnel.
The Committee and the Board next discussed the need to use
the same basis for assumptions in the School Department budget
and the Municipal budget on such matters as fuel costs,
electrical costs, etc. The Committee and the Board both felt
that this would lead to a more meaningful analysis of the
budgets. The Committee and the Board also answered and discussed
various questions they each had concerning various budget and
policy issues.
The Finance Committee was reminded that its next meeting
would be on Saturday, February 9, 1991 at 8:00 a.m.
There being no further business, upon motion duly made and
seconded, it was unanimously:
VOTED: To adjourn.
