Meeting called to order at 7:45 P.M. by S. MacCaffrie for the
purpose of school business.
C. Norris (HMFH) made a presentation on the new school design.
The plans were reviewed and alternate number 4 was determined
to be the accepted design. It was noted the building square
footage has been reduced from the original plan and that the
total square footage reduction was about 15,000. Chuck also
noted that the actual design reduction in square footage was
about 12,000 and after closer scrutiny, the original design
was approximately 3,000 square foot larger than it actually was.
It was also decided to include all below grade foundation for the
expansion as it is much more cost effective to install the foundation
now.
S. MacCaffrie commented that current building costs per square
foot were ranging from $107 to $142. Steve estimated that the
cost per square foot at bid time would most likely be in the
range of $115 to $120.
