MAR - 31939

of the January 5, 1989 meeting.
S. MacCaffrie noted the school project architects (HMFH) will be at
the next MBC meeting (Feb. 28, 1989) at about 9:00 P.M.
S. MacCaffrie noted that proposals were received regarding school
site geotechnical evaluations. In Steve's opinion, McFail's was the
better proposal and he forwarded his recommendation to the town
manager and architect.
The MBC meeting was closed for school business at 7:55 P.M.

Minutes of meeting of February 14, 1989
(continued)
A motion was made, seconded and approved to accept a bill in the amount
of $6500 for construction administration from the architect (TDPC).
S. MacCaffrie noted that the number of overlooked items being added to
the LIB/COA project appears to be excessive and noted that the town
need not be incurring such expenses alone. He also noted that the attitude
of the townspeople has changed since the recent incorrect and unecessary
editorial in the town paper. Town people think we SHOULD go for damages.
The project is however NOT overbudget at this time.
S. MacCaffrie noted also that since a design change for interior finish
has been made by the contractor, (without authorization from either the
owner or the architect), from solid oak to red veneer oak, the architect
needs to inform the contractor that a credit is due the town (note this
dollar amount has not been established however, it could be quite high
in the MBC's opinion).
various concerns were expressed regarding the facilities heating and
it's affect on interior finish materials (in particular the wood for
the light boxes).
D. Amsden requested that J. Epstein contact her and G. Farrugia
regarding the window treatments.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
