Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M. This meeting is to continue
discussion of the school project=
A motion was made, seconded to require the Architect to adher to the
original project goals of having bid documents ready for June.
Discussion was lengthy and the following facts were noted:
no agreement was ever agreed upon in writing to have the June
1989 deadline" All schedules by the architect did show this date
as a possibility though.
The chances are slim to none that the project will be funded this year
due to S9AB funding issues"
Unneccessary rushing of the plans will cause unnecessary change orders
and excess unfunded project costs.
Other avenues are open to the school committee such as exerting pressure
via political means and obtaining exemptions for Mansfield from the
termination of the guaranteed funding date. These are not being pursued
however, they MUST be.
A motion was made, seconded and voted unanimous to amend the original
motion to have the date of bid documents he Sept 1, 1999.
The amended motion to have bid documents ready by Sept, 1, 1989 was
seconded and voted unanimous.
The architect presented the project buidling model and was directed by the
MBC to remove the cupolas from the roof. Revisions to the cafeteria
roof skylighting may he pursued and presented to the MBC. It was requested
that the architect need only to attend the next MBC meeting on May 11v
1989, Various revised SBAB forms were shown to reflect the new downsized
hulding.
