Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm
The chairman indicated that the meeting was called to
review the contract which the School Committee entered
into with Roubichard Const for the interior renovations to
the Qualters Middle School. The chairman indicated that
the work was under the scope of the MBC and that there was
some confusion as to the proceedure for implementation and
supervision of this contract.
After much discussion it was noted that the MBC would have
the control of the project during construction and that
they were to be informed when the contract started work or
the construction meeting was scheduled.
It was noted that E. Giordano or S. MacCaffrie would
monitor the progress of the work.
The Engineer was questioned on the cost overrun from town
appropriated amount and it was indicated that the scope of
work was changed to include rework of the HVAC system in
the present auditorium which was in need of repair in
order to remain functional.
A rewiew of the plans was undertaken to find cost savings
since there was no contingincy for any unforseen
conditions. The school committee present indicated that
they were advised that they could spend their excess
monies rather than turn them back to the General Fund.
The school comittee members present indicated that if
there were any cost overruns the monies would be taken
from their 1991 budget.
Motion was made by EG and seconded by CA to award the
contract to Robichaud
Construction as bid. voted b -O
Bill submitted from HMFH for services of Merrimac Assoc
computer consultants was approved in the amount of $7,645
Voted 6-0
Bill submitted from Sanford Assoc for wetland work in the
amount of $4,082.10
moved by LA seconded by AM voted 6-0
