Jordan/Jackson Report.
Steve reported to the Committee that late this afternoon a fax had been received
from HMFH, Inc. that outlined their proposal for the fix of the Unit Ventilator Problems
at the Jordan/Jackson School. Steve asked Bernie Jackson to review his bills and give the
MBC a financial update. The MBC will not meet with HMFH, Inc. until the proposal has
been reviewed by Atty. Mangiaratti and Dick Battles.
High School Wall Update:
Bernie Jackson reported to the Committee that Frank St. Pierre has tried to
negotiate a scope of work for the High School Wall project. The major obstacles seem to
be the hidden costs and the difficulty in obtaining bonding. A possible solution may be do
proceed on a time and materials basis for any unforeseen situations.
A motion was made to close the Municipal Building Committee meeting. The

The meeting was open to public discussion. Many questions were asked by the audience.
The group was interested in the accuracy of the numbers, the cost of the future operating
budgets, location of additions, accuracy of the cost figures, possibility of over or under
building, return on the dollar, continued use of Roland Green, code updates, building
schedule and possibility of phased in projects, any non reimbursable expenses such as land
purchase as well as campus concept versus or neighborhood schools.
The Capital Asset Management Plan and the NESDC Long Range Facilities Planning
Report must be combined to present an accurate situation.
The MBC does not set the priorities or directions for these projects. It is up to the School
Department and the Municipal Department to do this. The MBC is then given directions
from the school and municipal departments to proceed.

A motion is made to accept Option 3 from the NESDC Long Range Facilities
Planning Report. CHILSON/HARTMANN. The motion passed unanimously.

and furnishings for the cost of $500,000 and for preliminary plans for the school

Emil told the Committees that time is of the essence. SBAC could change their funding
percentages in 1995 and that would have a great effect on the cost of the projects. The
School Committee will work on this project and hopefully work out dates for a fall Town
Meeting. Steve stated that it would take approximately 3 months to complete the plans.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The
meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 28, 1994.
