MINUTES

-. 1.Al , i ScTT
MEMBERS PRESENT: Rich Feeley, Louis Amoroso, Dave Young, Steve MacCaffrie,
Larry Carpenter
GUEST PRESENT: Frank St. Pierre
Mr. St. Pierre informed the MBC that he had discussed the project with 5 or 6 contractors
that were qualified to do the repairs on the auditorium wall, None of these contractors bid
on the job. The reasons were bonding costs, too many unknowns and the potential for
problems. Frank put together new specifications and received the following bids.
DCPO Certified
Eastern Construction Co.,
$109,903 (drywall cost: $24,480)
Non DCPO Certified
Riverside Builders, Inc.
$74,910 (drywall cost: $10,000 approx.)
The MBC discussed the situation. The bid from RBI was almost $10,000 over the amount
appropriated at Town Meeting. A motion was made to send a memo to Bill Williams
requesting $2780 for additional architectural and engineering fees as well
as $12,000 for the cost of the drywall. (Feeley/Young 4-0-0) Motion passed
unanimously.
Frank St. Pierre was asked to prepare a contract with RBI that listed the drywall work as
an add on item, so the contract amount does not exceed $65,000.. The Town Manager
will review the contract.
The proposal received from F MFK Inc. was reviewed and discussed. The Committee
agreed that the system should be in working condition at no expense to the Town. In one
of the memo, FMFII, Inc. offered an upgrade of controls for approximately $20,000.
This upgrade would enhance the system and would be accepted. A motion was made to
send a letter to Atty. Mangiaratti stating that the MBC would like to proceed with
legal action. The letter also stated that the MBC wanted the system in working
order and that they would accept the control upgrade. It stressed that time is of the
essence. CC: to all parties involved. (Carpenter/Amoruso 5-0-0). Motion passed
unanimously.

passed unanimously.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
