MINUTES
AUGUST 9,1994
MEMBERS PRESENT: Steve MacCafirie, Rich Feeley, Dave Young, Larry Carpenter
Andrea Micheli, Russell Hartmann, Donald Nicoletti
Bernie Jackson, Patricia McKinnon --Mansfield News.
The meeting opened at 7:10 p.ni in room the Library at Mansfield High School.
The Municipal Building Committee has been invited to the Board of Selectmen's meeting
on September 21, 1994.
The MBC has also been invited to a meeting with Dr. Nicoletti, Bob Gurek and
representatives of the State Department of Education. Due to the day time scheduling of
this meeting members of the MBC will not be able to attend.
A letter from a concerned citizen RE: location of the West Mansfield Fire Station.
A motion was made to accept the minutes of July 12, 19949 as written.
(Young/Feeley) The motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made to approve the secretarial payroll for the month of July, 1994.
(Feeley/Carpenter) The motion passed unanimously
Steve updated the MBC on the Capital Improvement Committee meeting he had attended.
He stated that the process is being handled backwards. Usually a plan is drawn up first,
then money is requested at Town Meeting. Presently, money is being requested then plans
will be drawn up. He stated that the prices that are being discussed now are based on
conceptual construction costs. These costs are being calculated on a square foot cost -
not line item costs. Steve stated that it is his personal opinion that the Municipal and the
School departments need to present a united package to the townspeople at the Special
Town Meeting in October.
