MUNICIPAL BUILDING COMMITTEE -7 TS MINUTES NOVEMBER 89 1994 Steve MacCaffric, Dave Young, Louis Amoroso Bill Antoine, Larry Carpenter, Rich Feeley The Committee met briefly with the crew that was repairing the unit ventilators. They observed the unit as it was removed from the wall. The contractor stated he was documenting all the work and would prepare a report. The repair work should be completed in approximately 4 1/2 weeks. The work is being completed at the rate of 2 units per night and 6-8 units per weekend. Steve MacCaffrie and Bill Antoine attended a meeting with John Miller- IIMFH Architects, Inc. The remedy for the unit ventilator problem was discussed, a recommendation to add more insulation was made. John Miller acknowledged he would make that change. The Committee discussed the door hinges at the central fire station on North Main Street. There is some uncertainty as to the structural integrity of the steel. Members of the AMC did not feel that the hinges were structural, however, Dan Clifford, DPW director had a differing opinion. The Building Inspection Department did not offer an opinion. A motion was made to ask the Board of Selectmen to authorize the transfer of $500.00 so a structural engineer could be hired to give a professional opinion, and send a memo stating our opinion. (Carpenter/Feeley) The motion passed 4-0-0. (CC all interested parties) If all parts of the Capital Plan pass on December 6, 1994, then the work load for the MBC will be tremendous. The Chairman will inform Bill Williams that we will need additional money in our budget to meet the demand. A motion was made to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 7.•50 p.m. Red ly submitted Maureen R. Doherty - Secretary UVJ ((fU
