MUNICIPAL BUILDING COMMITTEE
1,MBER 13, 1994
MINUTES
MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Carpenter, Rich Feeley, Steve MacCaffrie, Dave
Young, Emil Giordano, Don Nicoletti, Bill Williams*
The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m.
A motion was made to approve an invoice for $41.28 for office supplies.
(Carpenter/Giordano) 7-0-0.
The MBC discussed the use of secretarial services by other Town departments and boards.
Keyes Associates presented their plan for the architectural and design services for the
school construction projects. The members of the MBC and audience had questions
concerning project management philosophy, percentage of change orders, bus and car
traffic, core facilities, responsibility, investigative work, completion of time constraints.

Strekalovsky & Hoit presented their plan for the architectural and design services for the
school construction projects. Questions fro in the Committee members included; ability to
handle more work, use of additional land, mechanical engineering, destructive
investigative work, project management, ability to integrate technology, ability to meet
deadlines, percentage of change orders.
DRA Associates presented them plan for the architectural and design services for the
school construction projects. The Committee had questions about their ideas for
Mansfield, track record or design problems, budget constraints, ability to meet deadlines,
destructive investigations, conceptual solutions, project management.
A motion was made to go into executive session to discuss the possible contractural
and monetary negotiations. (Williams/Giordano) All members were polled. All in
Favor. PASSES
The committee reopened the meeting at 10:45.
A motion was made to accept Keyes Associates as the architect and design engineer
for the school construction projects. (Carpenter/Giordano) 6-1-1 (MacCaffrie
abstained/Feeley opposed)
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. (Feeley/Giordano) 8-0-0
The meeting adjourned at 11:15PM. The next meeting is scheduled for December 20,
1994.
