He noticed that they sent it to Old Colony Planning and not Southeast Regional Planning Council. Keyes will be requested to send an additional copy as well to the Mansfield Building Dept. David Young noted that he filled out the questionnaire for MBC staff regarding space requirements as part of Strekalovsky and Hoits programming needs survey. Bill Williams is coordinating the receipt of these and will provide a complete set at a later date. Bernie Jackson updated some items on the Jordan/Jackson School 1 ] the heating system seems to be working and most of the balancing has been completed with only a few minor issues in the Library; 2] still unable to get good quotes on the roof guards; and 3] still waiting to hear from manufacturer on the discolored metal roof panels. Bernie also noted that the RFP for removal of asbestos is being prepared and will be ready for review by MBC within a couple weeks. This work will be done after school ends on 6-21-95. MOTION - To have Bernie Jackson send General Sheet Metal a letter asking for their final report on the J/J School heating system repairs. [MacCaffrie/Feeley] Passes 6-0-0 KEYES ASSOCIATES PRESENTATION [7:40 pm] Schedule Dan Freeman provided a copy of the project schedule for reviews and submittal dates of the school projects. Discussion centered around reviews for the MBC, submittal to town departments, decision of one versus three contracts [planning to bid both ways at once] etc. Keyes will provide and update. Target is that plans delivered to SBAB on June 1st will be at least 85 percent complete. Z/+ Land Area Bob Gurek and Bill Williams will meet to review the status of additional land near Robinson School. Bob will work with Keyes to define what SBAB will require and report back to MBC. Robinson School Latest revisions were reviewed by Ron Ashton. Several attendees had questions. All items raised were addressed to the satisfaction of those in attendance. Robinson School staff to report back with ideas on potential use/treatments for courtyard area. Qualters School Dan Freeman provided a copy of the Structural Investigation Report , Appears several early deficiencies are not as bad in the masonry and that cost savings will result. Discussion of coordination on handicap lifts versus ramps. Ramps now deleted to save money and lifts installed this year should be paid from project account. Library wall is now straight with two angled bump -outs. High School Hubert Murray reviewed the latest plans for this school. Library plan has been approved internally and both new wings have decreased in size slightly. MOTION - To approve design development program plans and floor plans as presented and revised tonight so that Keyes can begin final contract documents. [MacCaffr►e/Carpenter] Passes 6-0-0 Heating System Discussion and update on latest Chapter 60 program potential for replacing heating systems. Need to clarify what SBAB is requiring for heating system replacement. Bob Gurek will work with Keyes [Battles] to define. Keyes has been directed to ignore this program for now and design the heating systems for each school as per the RFP/contract School Roofs Uncertainty about what SBAB is requiring. Bob Gurek will work with Keyes staff to help define. General feeling is that roof work should be minimized as much of it is still under warrantee. Dan Freeman provided a copy of their cost estimators latest numbers. They are still high but with different scenarios [amount for contingencies, amount of roof work, etc.] they are within budget. MBC members will discuss at next meeting and review with Keyes on 4-18-95. Keyes will provide copies of latest drawings for each school by 4-11-95. These will be mounted and colored so they can be displayed at the Town Library for public review. Schedule The MBC will meet with Keyes on 4-18, 4-25 [cable w/ school committee], 5-9, 5-23, and 6-13 as a minimum. School representatives can meet these nights. MOTION - To adjourn at 11:18.
