The members of the MBC and associate members from the Police Station project met to
discuss possible changes in the program. The MBC is concerned over the cost estimates
that they have received verbally from the architects and are in the process of discussing
possible cost cutting measures with the Chief and the other representatives. The MBC
feels that the Chief should have a program that his department can work with as well as
work towards planning to incorporate cuts if necessary. Some changes that were
discussed were the incorporation of prefabricated cells, the use of sheet rock in areas
outside prisoner access. The architect needs to meet with the Chief to discuss the
transition phasing for the move and write up the necessary procedures. Arthur noted that
he needs the armory and this is an area that cannot be cut from the budget.
(NOTE: Arthur O'Neill and Dianne Royle left meeting)
