Bacchiocchi RE: West Mansfield Fire Station Permit (Discussed the letter and suggested that the architect and contractor work this out with the building inspection department The Architect was also advised to make sure that the submittal of the Park Row/Central Fire Station Project building permit contained all the information as was requested on the Fire Station..) MIMCIPAL PROJECTS Strekalovsky and Hoit will be reporting back in writing for all the items that have been discussed in the Status report memo. TOWN HALL: Committee members Carpenter and Liddick met with representatives from Strekatovsky and Hoit and Consigli Construction Corporation to discuss the values of the Deduct Change Orders for the Town Hall and Central Fire Station Project. Member Carpenter feels that before the value for the Central Fire Station can be accepted the plans must be reviewed again. Members Liddick and Carpenter will review the plans and report back to the Chau. At the Planning Board meeting on January 31, 1996, they voted to allow the Town Hall Plan with 74 Parking Spaces in accordance with the Zoning By Law 4.4.1 A'contract need to be prepared by Stekalovsky and Hoit and reviewed by Town Counsel. MOTION: Authorize the chairman of the Municipal Building Committee to recommend that the Town Manager enter into a Contract with Consigli Construction Corp. for the Town Hall\ Central Fire Station Project with the approval of the deduct change orders No. 1 - Central Fire Station, No. 2 - Site Work and No. 3 - Building Functions (Carpenter/Liddick) 5-0-0 FIRE STATION: A letter was received from the Asst. Building Inspector in regards to the denial of the building permit for the West Mansfield Fire Station. The Committee reviewed the items that were outlined in the denial letter and determined that they were mainly code issues that could be resolved in the proper completion of the BOCA worksheet. The letter also recommended that these issues could be resolved in a meeting with the contractor, architect and building inspector, the members of the MBC suggested that this meeting be scheduled immediately. MBC Minutes - February 6, 1996 2 The Committee discussed the carpet and file specs as well as the case work for the West Mansfield Fire Station. POLICE STATION: The Police Station project was addressed. The members of the Committee will review the documents. A workshop meeting to discuss redesign will be set up. The Chief is still investigating the use of Department of Correction Personnel in this project. SCHOOL PROJECTS: Keyes Associates forwarded to the MBC a revised cost estimate for the School Projects. There was an increase of 5% in the price of the project. The Committee discussed their position on the school projects. It was the consensus ofthe MBC that it is not in their jurisdiction to support or oppose the school projects. Thcyvvould offer technical support, however, it is the responsibility of the School Committee ford School Department to present and support the school construction issues. MOTION: The Municipal Building Committee does not feel that it is the jurisdiction of their Board to take aposition on the Town Meeting Article for the School Projects. (Carpenter/Feeley) 5-0-0 The MBC met with the School Committee at their meeting to discuss the future of the School Projects. Chairman Young distributed copies of the MANSFIELD SCHOOLS - PROJECT COST PROJECTIONS to members of the School Committee.
