Hoit will have to issue an affidavits to certify any changes that have occurred. MBC Minutes - 6-25-96 Page 2 (7:40pm - N. Mahana arrived) Consigli is not unwilling to do the requested paperwork. Consigli noted that the Building Inspector's Office should contact, the Superintendent, then to the Project Manager, then the owner of the Company. The Asst. Building Inspector presently is speaking with the subcontractors on the job as well as calling the structural engineers and other project related professionals, this has resulted in some confusion on what needs to be submitted. (7:55 R. Feeley arrived) Sprinkler system prices - Two additional prices are needed and will be submitted by 6/28/96. Project Schedule: updated June 17th - the schedule is fluctuating due to personnel shifting from the Town Hall to the West Mansfield Fire Station There will be no problem to be completed by September. Vinyl will be installed, roof installed, and windows done by the end of July. Member Liddick asked if there are any items that need to be submitted. Consigli and R Hoit believe that all major items are done. (8:05 - R. Mangiaratti -G. Dainis arrived) TOWN HALL • CAM HVAC -RESOLUTION • Approved shop drawings and samples of plaster - detail on corner beading • Approved shop drawings for ductwork coordination • Approved shop drawings and samples on brick, color and stone • Installation of mechanicals • Carpet manufacturer - prices for change from 32 ounce to 26 ounce carpet • Project schedule reflective of actual work being performed • Concern that the contractor is not following procedure asset forth in the specifications and in accordance with the plans. The Committee and representatives from CAM HVAC discussed the documentation for layout and coordination for the HVAC sheet metal and piping work, There were some questions on the coordination of other subs concerned with this installation. Roger will stamp the submitted drawings. The drawings were submitted to Consigli - for coordination. One issue was the duct work - the other was the equipment, this is a concern with the design and the credit issue. TCI has approved all the work. This may be an issue for the mechanical inspector. The Town Manager asked when this can be submitted to the MBC Minutes - 6-25-96 Page 3 mechanical inspector. - should be submitted within two days. There was a question as to whether the shop drawings will be signed and stamped by the Engineer or TCI. The location on the roof top units has been resolved and there are no structural issues remaining. Color of brick, and block submitted and the samples were delivered to the MBC meeting tonight. Windows will not be available until October. Exterior masonry, will be coordinated with the new connector. Steel should be available with a week or so. The schedule was reviewed with the contractor and a revised schedule will be forwarded to the MBC. Consigli asked for a detail sketch on filling of the holes in the chase. R. Hoit asked for a submittal to review. Discussed the carpeting, samples for the 26 and the 32 ounce carpeting will be submitted to the Architect to review. The MBC requested that there be a submittal for references. The Color samples will be presented at the July 9, 1996, meeting. The next Construction meeting is scheduled for 7-2-96, at 7:30am. Displeasure was expressed by the Town Manager over the participants that missed the meeting of June 25th. School Proiects• (R. Ashton - 9:05, E. Giordano, D. Nicoletti,) Emergency Finance Board - Keyes was asked to fill out the application for the Town Treasurer. There were a lot of details needed for renovation. Keyes will drop them off to MBC office at the end of the week. Ron Ashton gave a brief summary of the staff meeting with the Robinson School. Material Selections will be presented to the MBC. They reviewed the location of the access road for the heavy equipment. The Principal had concerns and they can be addressed in the specifications. Discussions were held on access with a badge program it will be handled through the individual subcontractor. A log sheet will be kept and a request will be made for the superintendent of each subcontractor to remain consistent. A resolution needs to be made on the phasing, badges, disturbances, and parking. Member Liddick doesn't want to get too detail oriented in the specifications, but wants the basics covered. Town Counsel, Robert Mangiaratti, gave an overview on the request for suspension cost. Art. 8.2 specifically addresses this issue. He believes that the Town owes some money, but the amount is in question. The Town Counsel suggested getting time sheets and more detail on the back-up data to determine what is a realistic price. If parties cannot come to MBC Minutes - 6-25-96 Page 4 terms then arbitration is always an alternative. The scope of the dispute is very limited. Member Liddick stated he would like this item to be documented with the time sheets and other records submitted for our review. It was the consensus of the committee to have this documentation so that all items can be addressed and it can be reviewed by Town Counsel. The Town Manager would like this to be handled by the Town Counsel. School Committee member Dainis asked for the tasks to be detailed by job number. The burden on proof is on the claimant. This is important to justify this as public servants for the Town. Status of the Jordan/Jackson Roof was reviewed with Town Counsel. This project has been closed out with Granger. This appears to be a product warrantee problen-L The School department and the MBC will research this item. and give the information to the Town Counsel. Jordan/Jackson wells were discussed. The Town Engineer is reviewing the well on East Street Fields. The committee asked who will be responsible for the preparation of the RFP. The AMC feels that this RFP will need to be prepared by a professional. The Town Manager was requested to get a status update. The MBC stated that they will not move forward with the well at the Jordau/Jackson School until the East Street well project is addressed. The Committee reviewed the minutes from the Chapter 60 meeting. School Committee member Emit Giordano will contact TCI in reference to a point of clarification.
