in the faculty dining room. The existing dry well in the courtyard is below grade and
t_ needs to be connected to the catch basin. It appears that this dry well is being fed from
the roof drains. This is being referred to the civil engineers at Keyes Associates.
It was the consensus of the committee to proceed with connecting the dry well to the
catch basin on a time and material basis. There was discussion concerning the lighting at
the Jackson parking lot. The foot-candle measurement needs to be determined by the
civil engineers at Keyes. The new ball field is being planned for installation during the
week of September 15u'. Mr. Parker was requested to put together a memo regarding the
installation of a lawn. The Project Coordinator asked the Acting Town Manager about
the water ban. There was discussion regarding the excess loam on site. There was
discussion regarding the creation of a berm around the ball field. This could be used as
seating for spectators as well as protection for the street. This could also be used as a
buffer by the kindergarten building. The committee discussed the generator for the
school. There was a question regarding the size of the generator and if it would be
sufficient for the school addition. The plumbing contractor is working on replacement of
the fittings that are not allowed by the plumbing inspector. This work may be done
during the school day. The fittings are located in the corridor by the old cafetorium. TCI
must determine if the existing generator is sufficient for the school.
Mr. Ashton reviewed the Construction Meeting Minutes No. 31. There was discussion
regarding the shop drawings for the elevator. He stated that they would be proceeding
with construction on the "A" building. Mr. Ashton commended Walter on a job well
done. The Chair stated that everyone involved in the project worked hard to have this
school opened.
Mr. Sciarrapa discussed the furnishings plan and asked if it would include window
treatments and coat hooks. A question was raised regarding the size of the cafetorium.
Member Young asked about the transition between D & A. The floor will be finished so
that the floor will be level.
Town Hall - Air Conditioner:
There was discussion regarding the resolution of the air conditioning unit. The sound
blankets were installed on September 6, 1997. The architect needs to have the sound
testing done immediately. The acting town manager asked that we appeal the decision of
the Board of Health. We are awaiting an answer from Trane regarding acceptance ofthe
installation of the fencing around the chiller.
Atty. Mangiaratti stated the he will be responding to the Board of Health Memo.
Mr. Hoit brought up the fact that he has expended money for the air conditioning
enclosure. Chairman Liddick stated that he feels that the problem lies with either the
design or compliance of the unit per specification.

A memo from Trane regarding the installation of the fence and it effects on the running
of the chiller unit. Mr. Hoit stated that the fence has insulation qualities that reduce the
dB levels significantly.
POLICE STATION:
Mr. Walter Shuley discussed the progress of the police station project. The work is
progressing well. Member Feeley gave an overview of the project. There was discussion
regarding the data outlets, chair lift drawing and other outstanding drawings. The ceiling
in the sally port has been approved a submittal has to be provided by the structural
engineer. The ceiling will be a 2 hour rated ceiling. Air conditioning drawings — has
been reviewed but not approved. A directive will be issued from S & H for the cell
finish. A drawing is needed for the chemical tank release for the fire suppression system.
There was discussion on the ceiling and wall for the women's shower room in the cell
area. Stamped drawings are needed for the "I" beams in the buildings.
Member Young asked about a crack in the existing brick wall - he asked if this needed to
be reviewed by a structural engineer.
Member Feeley stated that Bob Button, director of MEMA, was happy with the
installation of the three-inch conduit.
Member Young asked about the ventilation hood in the photo room. TCI is working on
the drawings for these rooms. A light switch has to be added for the chief's closet. The
chief asked about the schedule for E911. Member Young asked that BBC furnishes an
updated schedule.
