POLICE STATION PROJECT REPORT
Chahman Liddick asked the contractors how they were proceeding with the schedule for completion. Mr.
Michael Brait gave an overview of the outstanding items and punch list items. Member Feeley asked about
the status of the epoxy floor. Mr. Gary Brait stated that the problems with the epoxy floor were minor
problems that could be repaired within one to two days. Mr. Hoit notified the contractor of his
dissatisfaction with the floor. The imperfections in the base would be corrected and a new finish coat
would be added. The contractor has scheduled this repair work to take place Monday, January 26th.
According to the contractor this will not hold up substantial completion or an occupancy permit. The
contractors have scheduled the final inspections to take place at the end of this week. Mr. Michael Brait
relayed the concerns of the Fire Prevention officer to Mr. Hoit. The contractor will request a formal
punch fist from the architect. Member Young asked about the welding work that was required in the cell
area. Chairman Liddick asked about if the plans and specs were submitted to the State Department of
Public Health. Member Feeley asked if there were any outstanding issues and instructed the architect to
contact Mr. Wensley at the Department of Public Health. The members asked about other issues that were
not completed. Due to budget constraints the sink in the photo room and the heat system in sally port are
no longer issues.
The committee reviewed the change orders.
Change Order No. 7 - $ 33,624 - There was discussion regarding Item #1 — the item that was bid was
$4500. Item # 8 was also reviewed —this was originally scheduled to be a drywall ceiling. —Michael Bruit
reviewed each ofthe rooms that were mentioned in this item.
Change Order No. 8 - $ 3,375 - Member Feeley stated that he feels that the floor we are receiving is of
lesser value but we are being charged more money. Mr. Holt did not feel that the credit that was given for
item #1 was too low. There was discussion regarding the time extension requested in Change Order #8.

The following items were reviewed for Change Order # 9
1. Install steel frame bumper guards down spouts in the impound area the $617.
2. Electrical Service for Alternate No # 5 — putting back in the work for photo room $2805.
3. Cut and patch 10 control joints at existing steel columns $1,087.60
4. Add epoxy flooring in the cell areas $4,196.30 (There was discussion regarding the installation of
epoxy flooring in the cell floors. — Mr. Hoit stated that it was their intent that the epoxy floor was to be
continued in the cell area. Mr. Gary Bruit stated that this was not new information.)
5. Additional signage $167.76
6. Additional stainless steel bench work $1570.00
7. Supply 13 exterior fixtures — (Per Rich Feeley) $710.00
8. Put the mop sink in the impound area —$3500 — (not considered an option at this time)
9. Stairway treads — not an option at this time.
10. Counter in photo lab - $550.00
11. Heater in Sally Port — not an option at this time.
12. Ceiling in the back stairwell — needs to be fire rated. (required by Building Department)
Mr. Heir stated that the request to extend the completion date to January 23`a was reasonable but the request
for additional compensation for the extension was not recommended.
Chairman Liddick mentioned that there might be items that cannot be approved because the proper protocol
was not followed. Chairman Liddick stated that Mr. Hoit and Mr. Shuley have put the committee in a bad
situation. Mr. Gary Brait stated that the epoxy floor is the only item that was in dispute, however, all the
other items have been run through the architect.
The committee reviewed the following priority items —1.) Leaking roof in the back stairway
2.) Damper in communication room is a problem and needs to be reviewed. This has been an open issue
for several days.
There was discussion regarding the electrical charges. BBC cost of running the radio systems have
averaged $515 per month and that any bill that is over this amount would be borne by BBC as electricity
used by the contractor to build the building.
For the Record: Mr. Gary Brait stated that the they were given a contract on April 24w and the contract for
the Masonry was issued on July 2"a and stated that if this delay had not taken place the original completion
date would have been met.
ROBINSON SCHOOL:
Chairman Liddick stated that there are two remaining issues — project schedule and cooperation in the work
place.
The architect stated that there was a problem with water in the pit for the elevator. There was no
waterproofing in this area because there were not any leaks in this vicinity. This area was fine until there
was snow. It appears to be a problem because of the frozen ground. Tlus area was pumped out this
morning and within several hours more water had penetrated this area. Several options were discussed to
help eliminate this problem. The architect needs to make a recommendation on this item. The shop
drawing for the elevator has been approved and has been forwarded to the general contractor.
There has been a request made by the nurse for an intercom in her office. A recommendation was made
that this could be addressed through the phone system.
There was discussion regarding the relocation of the library. The work is this area is proceeding. The
carpet is being removed. Chairman Liddick stated that we need a firm position from Keyes Associates.

Mr. Ashton forwarded some information from the kitchen consultant. There was discussion regarding this
situation. Mr. Parker asked that a meeting be held with the kitchen consultant to review the items in
questions.
Chairman Liddick asked that all the credit items be collated into one package. He stated that he needs to be
informed of any outstanding items. The Chair requested that the architect obtain a list of outstanding items
from the contractor.
Mr. Ashton distributed the revised copy of the change order summary dated 1-20-98. There was discussion
on several of these items.
Mr. Parker is in the process of obtaining a permit for oil storage.
There was discussion regarding the status of the furnishings. Mr. Ashton will be contacting OSO tomorrow
to obtain a status report. Chairman Liddick asked that the contractor famish the information regarding the
standard set-up for each class grade.
