General Update
• Pencil requisition was reviewed last Thursday, June 24, 1999. Project Coordinator
commented that an updated schedule was not provided.
01
Changes requested in the nursing office are being implemented. Anticipated costs for
changes are minimal.
• Chris Sullivan reported a few areas that are in need of telephones. Jim Liddick suggested
conduit be surface mounted to reduce cost.
Project Coordinator presented a schedule of dedicated phone lines, and room numbers for
temperature controls throughout the school.
VAT Removal — Chris Sullivan reported that the MBC Chairman has viewed the tile areas to
keep and/or remove as recommended by the Project Coordinator. Project Coordinator is still
waiting for Walter Parker, School Building & Grounds Director to review proposed removal.
Ms. Sullivan commented that a scope of work needs to be forwarded to the asbestos contractor
(SMI) by Tuesday, July 6, 1999. Agreed that school staff has until end of week to review or
move forward.
Unit Ventilator — Existing unit ventilator louvers are shown to be reused to serve new unit
ventilators. Chris Sullivan requested permission to have McLaughlin Mechanical test the unit to
determine that the rate of exhaust is acceptable. TCI will be on site while testing occurs to
ensure 450 CFM outside air meets minimum code requirement.
Landscaping — Walter Parker expressed concern that J.T. Callahan was planning to do
landscaping during the summer. Steve Chrmura stated that no seeding would be done until
September.
Gym Area Piping Traps — Project Coordinator reported that the traps are rusted on the
condensate lines in boys/girls locker room. Contract indicates tying existing lines to new.
Discussion was that the traps would probably break if the contractor performs the required
contract work. Keyes Assoc. recommends replacing of the traps. Ken Gay will review.
Change Order — Committee members reviewed Change Order #11 for approval.
MOTION was made to approve JTC/Change Order #11. Credit in the amount of $1,569.00

worn out control dampers and actuators.
Draina eg Plan —David Young requested that Keyes forward a copy of drainage plan to the MBC
Project Administration — Chris Sullivan commented that all subconsultants have been asked to
submit any questions relating to the school project in the form of an RFI so that issues can be
tracked more effectively.
Gym Ceiling Repair — Project Coordinator noted that no testing has occurred to date. Still expect
work to be done this summer.
Windows - Sarkis Zeronian to review which lintels need to be removed and evaluate damage
caused by SMI in removing windows.
Suburban Middlesex Insulation — Project Coordinator reported that SMI is in violation of the
contract documents. Chris Sullivan addressed issue with Universal Engineering on June 25,
1999. Ms. Sullivan cited SMI's window removal method causing damage to interior pre -cast
sills. Lips of exterior sills are intact. SMI's temporary roof enclosure is inadequate and could
result in damage to existing wood floor. Jim Liddick expressed concern that windows are not up
in cafeteria yet noting the 8 week time frame before school is back in session. Suggestion to
have Universal Engineering send letter to SMI stating concerns putting them on notice. Project
Coordinator to follow up.
Summer Construction Schedule - Walter Parker requested a copy of JTC summer schedule.
Chris Sullivan to follow up.
Moving Schedule — Walter Parker to provide a list to Project Coordinator regarding dates that the

openings. Pending Keyes recommendation.
