Re: fraudulent Change Orders submitted by JRW that were approved by J.T. Callahan. Double
accounting is blatant. Cost change is significant based on Change Orders submitted twice. MBC
asked Jim May to respond in writing to J.T. Callahan with a strong letter advising them to check
invoicing thoroughly prior to submitting to the Town for payment.
Cafeteria — Cafeteria is expected to be fully functional this week.
Library — Library area should be fully functional next week.
QUALTERS MIDDLE SCHOOL
COP#220 ref. Temp Metal Door Frame @ Gym — Committee asked Keyes Associates to respond
to JTC. Change Order Proposal #220 is rejected because the cost was incurred due to JTC's lack
of planning proper egress prior to taking over gym space.

& Grounds alarm panel and will add strobe to South Wing exterior corner to be noticed at night.
Saturday fire alarm did not ring through to the fire department.

in schedule. Time frame to install is one week.
SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING
Fields Committee — Fields Committee opened discussion regarding options to expand recreation
areas.
OMS Proposal - Fields Committee presented proposal to convert the Auditorium at QMS to a
Multi -Purpose Room. Quote received from Keyes Associates included: Design Phase
$5,000.00, Project Development $47,000 and Construction Cost $600,000.00.
Opposition - Speaker from the Arts Council spoke against converting QMS Auditorium to a
multi-purpose room, noting that removal of sloping seats and backstage area would restrict
performances and events.
SBAB — It was noted that the School Dept. would need to obtain S.B.A.B. approval to
change original approved scope of work within the existing contract.
Status — Based on discussion, consensus was to drop proposal to revamp QMS Auditorium.
Continue with approved plans.
2. Freestanding Structure — Option was presented by School Superintendent to build a
freestanding gym structure. Estimated cost between $2 - 3 million dollars.
• A suggestion was made to put an addition at NMS in parking lot area and pave existing field
hockey field for parking.
• Mr. Tartufo commented that several options should be explored.
• Field direction - It was noted that the track behind NMS is not laid out for football. Field as it
is laid out East/West. Football fields should be North/South direction.
Status: Feasibility Study - Decision was that Keyes Associates would perform a feasibility
study providing three recreation facility options. MBC Chairman noted that the Municipal
Building Committee could not fund the study. Cost of study could be submitted as a
warrant article. School Committee and Board of Selectman to discuss who will submit
