Change Order Log - Sue Michael Brown verified the status of all Change Order Pre osalmith
JTC as requested by the MBC. Ms. Brown provided an updated COP Log to the Committew
noting some change order proposals still under protest and others proposals that JTC has
confirmed are closed issues.
Paint Dispute - Sue Michael Brown indicated that Michael Callahan has made contact with an
arbitrator to review paint dispute issues. Arbitrator to schedule meeting with MBC, contractor
and painter to review details of specified work in dispute.
Manpower - Walter Parker expressed concern that manpower is limited and priority areas (i.e.
Admin./Guidance) may not be complete prior to opening of school. Project Coordinator's
opinion was that JTC does have sufficient manpower on site at this time. Paul Letendre
estimated approximately 20 workers working daily this week. Chairman asked Project
Coordinator to check daily logs to verify manpower on site.
Construction Schedule - Based on the two week look -ahead schedule provided by JTC (dated
July 25, 2000), Paul Letendre noted that the Contractor has completed the identified work by the
dates specified or early than scheduled.
Seismic Issue at Gym - Discussion opened that work to install of seismic clips as directed may
be more extensive than originally anticipated. If required potential additional cost is estimated at
$30K. Rich Feeley expressed concerned with installation of clips creating a chain reaction of
cracking throughout existing brick. Paul Letendre to contact building inspector, to verify TCI's
Bruce Davie's interpretation of code. Chairman to follow up with Bob Vogel.
Transformer at Auditorium Stage - Removal of electrical service not included in design
documents. Electrical power must be removed per code due to future non-use. Work must be
performed prior to opening of school for occupancy of this area. TCI to generate necessary
sketch. MBC agreed that if the cost proposal from JRW is reasonable, Project Coordinator is
authorized to direct work to proceed on T&M.
Independent Living Area — Sue Michael Brown questioned the MBC regarding installation of
oven and range top. Items are not indicated in electrical specifications. Walter Parker and
Lincoln Lynch advised MBC to delete items due to unexpected added cost. Sue Michael Brown
to issue response to JTC to delete stove top and electrical power.
Handicap Walkway near Auditorium — Concern raised that the grading of the straight walkway
from front entrance to ramp parking lot may not comply with handicap code. Project
Coordinator to review issue with Building Inspector. Concern that an underground gas line is
buried nearby.
Locker Room Changes — Sue Michael Brown commented that a preliminary estimate for the
proposed locker room changes was received from JTC in the amount of $192,464.79 plus mark-
up for total around $225,000. Ms. Brown noted that the proposal was not yet reviewed by
WFDG for accuracy. MBC and School Dept. agreed that the preliminary cost estimate was
excessive. Committee discussed three options relating to locker room renovations; a) Keep
original scope of work per contract, b) Issue Change Order to JTC to proceed with work, or c)
Delete work relating to locker room and bid next Spring for work to be done in Summer. Issue
tabled pending Wallace Floyd's Review of the locker room change proposal.
Paving — No change. JTC still planning paving to be complete in November.
Enunciator Panel — Chairman questioned status of a temporary enunciator panel to obtain
occupancy permit. JTC was asked by Chairman to discuss installation of a temporary panel with
Fire Dept. until locker room renovations are resolved. Project Coordinator to follow-up.
Application for Payment — Sue Michael Brown commented that the pencil requisition was
completed earlier that day. Final Requisition for Payment for July is expected by next week
Wheelchair Lift — Jim Liddick questioned the status the wheelchair lift in the auditorium. Paul
Letendre noted that wheelchair unit and enclosure panels have been ordered.
Repointing Brick Wall Credit — WFDG issued bulletin to JTC to submit credit proposal.
Dedication Plaque — Architect has received the approved copy from MBC/School Dept. and
forwarded to JTC for fabrication.

COMPOST FACILITY
Mobardy Agreement — Richard Feeley raised concern regarding DPW accepting an offer made
by Mobardy to provide free services in exchange for deduct change order. MBC Chairman
advised Lee Azinheira to contact the Office of the Attorney General to verify legality of
agreement.
Change Order Proposal #4 - Lee Azinheira informed the MBC of a COP submitted by Fraser
Engineering, (Electrical Contractor) Ref. Blowers for Compost - $15,405.64. Proposal includes a
credit of $4,430.00. Lee noted that the air control unit currently in the project needs to be
revised. Issue was raised that due to size of pipe to be installed, the box to house hardware needs
to be larger. Chairman questioned excessive cost to increase from 12" x 12" light gage steel to
16" x 16" heavy gage steel. MBC agreed to approval of the change order subject to DPW
getting written quote and recommendation from CDM.
Documentation - Mr. Azinheira asked the Committee for copies of prior minutes approving
Change Orders from Mobardy and/or Frazer Engineering. Eleanor McCarter noted that the
Compost Project was managed by DPW (Mike Ahern) and that a limited amount of
documentation was provided to the MBC. Ms. McCarter to follow-up re: CO's and minutes on
file.
Certified Payrolls — Chairman questioned status of Certified Payroll not previously provided by
Mobardy. Lee Azinheira noted that certified payrolls have now been received.
Meeting adjourned at 10:30 PM.
Respectfully submitted
