Planning Board Minutes
August 3, 1970
The Mansfield Planning Board met at the Mansfield Town hall on Monday,
August; 3, 1970.
Present: Chairman Mendes, Clerk Latham and Planners Wojtki.ewitez, Nelson
MacFarlane and Wellington,
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM.
Motion by Planner Nelson seconded by Planner Latham to accept the minutes
from the meeting of July 20, 1970, all in favor.
Planner Wojtkiewitez, was sent to the Penn Central. Hearing in Attleboro to
protest discontinuance of Boston Train Service.
Following notices were received from the Board of Appeals:
Ivan Goddard --Variance
Allan Willis --Gravel removal
Barbara Gibbs Dance Studio permit
Carl Cl.emmey permit to store cars
Letter was received from White and Kelly for Mr. Christy Vose withdrawing
his request for rehearing for his apartment application.
Planners Mendes, Wellington and. Nelson will attend a hearing on Route 25

on August 20, 1970 at the Department of Public Works in Boston.

Motion by Planner Nelson seconded. by Planner Latham to sign a plan dated
July 16, 1970 for Robert L. Rizzo for three lots on Gilbert Street, all
in favor,
Motion by Planner Nelson seconded by Planner Wellington to sign a plan
dated July 6, 1970 owned by William and Anna Palanza for two lots
on Morini Street, all in facmor.
Motion by Planner Latham seconded by Planner Nelson to sign a plan
dated July 16, 1970 for land owned by Alexander and Nancy Skene for
604,055 square feet of land at 41.7 Elm Street, all in favor.
Discussion was held on a joint hearing with the Board of Appeals regarding
Joseph Stiviletta plan of Land on Stearns Avenue for nine lots dated
August 3, 1970 showing a profile of Bonney Lane.
Town Counsel Grady met with the Board to review contract for 701. Also
discussion was held on legislation to have a ;'plan feed back from the
Registry. Motion by Planner NElson seconded by Planner Latham to
authorize the chairman to execute the contract with the Department of
Community Affairs and Southeastern Regional for 701 after review by the
Board and Town Counsel.
Motion by Planner Wellington, seconded by Planner MacFarlane to adjourn,
all in favor.
Meeting adjourned at 1.1:45 P.M.
WHEREAS the Mansfield Planning Board is desirons ofipdating the
Mansfield Comprehensive Plan, and
WHEREAS the 1970.Town Meeting authorize'd the Planning Board to apply
for and accept a planning grant under Secti-on 701 of the Acts of
19$4 as amended, and
WHEREAS the 1970 Town Meeting; authorized and appropriated sufficient
ftnid,s for the Town's share under said grant, and
WHEREAS the said grant has been approved and made available to the
Town; and
WHER.FA,S the Planning Board has engaged the services of a full-time
Town Planner to perform certain portions of the work under said
grant.
BE TT THEREFORE RESOI,VFD that the Mansfield Planning Board authorizes
its Chairman after Planning Board and Town Counsel'revi.e«, to
execute all contracts with the Department, of Community Affairs
of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and with the Southeastern
Regional Planning and Economic Development District relati.ve to
the implementation and utilization of said grant received. under
Section 701 of the Acts of 19S4 as amended..

scheduled meeting.
