Attorney Ernest white met with the Board to discuss an application from
Christy Vose for apartments on the second floor which was denied by the
Board of Appeals. He told the Board that he felt the Board of Appeals
had misconstrued the information as they said. there was no hardship and
there was inadequate parking. Attorney White told the Board there is
adequate parking and as to the question of hardship, this is an existing
three story block in the center of Town that has to be used for something.
It can't be used for storage or manufacturing. For all practicalities can-
not be used unless for apartments, and there are existing apartments
now. He told the Board he would like them to give them the opportunity
to go back to the Board of Appeals and present it in a favorable way so that
possibly they will. change their minds. Unless there is some income coming
in it cannot be properly maintained and will. be an eyesore to the community.
Planner Nelson advised him the Board. can only approve it if they give
some new evidence. Attorney White told him he has indicated parking
space behind the store providing it is reserved for apartments. And there
is a public parking lot close to his property. The Board asked him
if there had ever been a plan drawn on the land. Attorney White said.
not to his knowledge but they will have one if there is a re -hearing.
Chairman Mendes advised him that the Board should have a lay -out of the
parking area and that they would get copies of the transcript of the
hearing from the Board of Appeals and go over it from that stand point.
Attorney White and Mr. Arthur Stivelletta met with the Board to discuss
his proposed subd.ividion for Oakland and Swett Streets. Discussion was
held. on lay -out, roads, drainage, size of water mains and entrance and
exits.
