The Mansfield Planning Board held a Meeting at 28 Bellview Drive,
Mansfield, on Thursday, December 7, 1972 at 9;00 P.M.
Present; Chairman Mendes, 'Clerk Grant
Planners. MacFarlane, Newlson, Latham, Town Planner Maurer`
1. Board discussed the decision of ,the Finance Committee in denying the
transfer of $500 for the purpose of advertising the ,proposed zoning
by-law. Town Planner Maurer stated that he and Planner Zaffini;had
met with the Finance Committee on December 6. 1972 and that the request'
for the transfer was denied because the Finance Committee felt that the
Planning Board was using the most costly alternative in advertising.
Chairman Mendes stated that he had talked with Fred Basch, Chairman
of the Finance Committee, and that the Finance Committee was meeting
on December '9th, 1972 and they would discuss the proposed transfer
and _Chairman Rendes would meet with the Finance Committee at that
time. The 'Planning Board discussed the alternative that was left
for them and it was the consensus of the Board .to prepare a petition
to the Board of Selectmen to call a special Town Meeting thereby
making it necessary for the Planning Board to advertise. This
alternative would only be used if the transfer request was not granted
