Planning Director Maurer
1. Board reviewed the letter sent to Brad Griffith,'Agent for the Mansfield
Industrial Park Realty Trust, from the Planning Director relative to the
fact that the gas line is being installed by the Brockton -Taunton Gas Co.
in Francis Avenue in a location other than that approved by the Planning
Board. It was noted that the Brockton -Taunton 'Gas Co. had not applied
for or been granted a permit for this extension by the Board of Selectmen.
Planning Director Maurer noted that he had talked to Brad Griffith several
times during the day and as recently as 5:15 this afternoon, and that
Mr. Griffith said he had talked to the representatives of the Gas Co.
and that the gas line would be relocated. Mr. Griffith had advised the
Planning Director that he would send a letter to the Board telling them
that the situation would be amended as well as a statement relating to
the finished grade of the retention area as required by the Planning
Board of Owens-Illinois.
Motion: To send a letter to Brad Griffith advising him that the letter
sent to him by the Planning Director on May 14, 1974 regarding
the improper location of the gas line has been reviewed by the
Planning Board and the Planning _Board endorses the action taken
by the Planning Director and that unless the Mansfield industrial
Park Realty Trust demonstrates to the Planning Board that the
situation will be corrected, steps will be i.n'i.tiated by the
Planning Board to rescind approval of the definitive subdivision
plan.

Williams Street. It was noted that the comments requested by the Board had
not been received back yet.
6. Chairman Zaffini explained to the Board why he voted against the bucket
truck at the Town Meeting. He stated that his vote was a frustration vote
because he was bull at the fire department for their request to.increase
the amount appropriated for the aerial ladder truck. He noted that the
Planning Board had voted to support the recommendations of the Capital
Improvements Committee and that he wanted to apologize to; the Board for
not supporting their vote.
Planner Dunn said he felt that the vote of the Capital Improvement Committee
at the Town Meeting could be separate as what was voted as a Planning Board
member. Planner Grant said that his impression was that the three boards
should support the Capital Improvement Program in total as originally agreed
on, but that this year the Finance Committee had broken apart from the
original agreement. He stated that if a Planning Board member did not
want to vote for the Capital Improvement Program, that he should not sit
with the Board at Town Meeting.
