He advised the Board that prior to writing the 'final recommendation for the presentation at Town Meeting that he reviewed the Planning Program and that the Planning Program had recommended that that area remain as Industrial to serve as a buffer for the expansion of the airport. Under the Planning Program the airport would have also been zoned for industrial purposes. Motion: To recommend that the Planning Board reverse their recommendation of March 30, 1977 and recommend that the rezoning at the intersection of Short and Ware Streets not be voted favorably for the following reasons: 1) The proposed land to be rezoned is in an area that is presently being developed for residential purposes. 2) A portion of the proposed area to be rezoned is within area proposed for the expansion of the North/South Runway of the Mansfield Municipal Airport. The North/South'runfway will be relocated after Route 495 is constructed. 3) The Airport Commission has sponsored an article at a previous Town Meeting for the parcel in question and the Airport land as an Industrial Airport Zone, which was not acted on favorably at Town Meeting. 4) The rezoning of this land will conflict with the expansion plans of the Mansfield Municipal Airport. (Plourde-Mahana, all in favor) VOTED 2) The Board was presented with an amendment to the Town Meeting Article concerning piggeries. The proposed amendment included only the elimination of piggeries within the Agricultural Zone. Motion: To recommend in favor of the amended article for piggeries.
