MANSFIELD PLANNING BOARD
MINUTES
May 23, 1979
Present: Chairman Parsons, Clerk Lesuer
Planners: Hartmann, Flynn
Planning Director Maurer
1) Chairman Parsons called the meeting to order.
2) The Board discussed the resignation of Planner Mangiaratti which took
effect at the close of the Town Meeting on Monday. His resignation means
that he will not be able to serve as the Planning Board representative
on the Downtown Advisory Committee. It was noted that there is one at
large vacancy on the committee and Planner Mangiaratti has applied to
fill that vacancy. Chairman Parsons noted his concern with the structure
of the Downtown Advisory Committee in that the at large appointments are
not given any term of office. He felt that because the Committee is
going to continue on, the Planning Board should structure the Committee
to give a definitive term for each of the at large members.
Motion: To appoint Robert S. Mangiaratti to the Downtown Advisory Committee.
(Lesuer - Hartmann, all in favor) VOTED
Motion: To send a letter to each of the members of the Downtown Advisory
Committee advising them that the Planning Board will be reviewing
the structure of the Committee and establishing definitive terms.
(Lesuer - Hartmann, all in favor) VOTED
3) The Board reviewed the proposal of the Betts Company to move a house from
Casa Drive to Gilbert Street. The Planning Director advised that he had
talked to Mr. Betts and there would be no trees cut as partcof the house
moving operation. There would be some branches cutin front of the lot
where the house will be located. Because there was no removal of trees,
the Board took no action on the request.
4) The Board made a field inspection of the Henley -Lundgren proposed earth
removal and pond development project off South Main Street. The Board
reviewed the site with Steve Kelleher and Jerome Carr of the Henley -
Lundgren Company.
5) The Board made a field inspection of the proposed pond development off
South Street owned by Billings Realty Trust and reviewed the site with
Ralph Maloon of RIM Engineering.
6) The date for the next meeting was set for May 30, 1979 at 7:30 P. M. in
