They are discussing six-month leases with tenants. They are allowing last months rent to be used towards the deposit. Apartments Nos. 8 and 9 are on the same side of the street that the Eric Road condominiums are going up. Twenty-four units are under construction. Around the Table In reference to the article which was in the Mansfield News regarding the Planning Director, Planner DeGirolamo pointed out that Chairman Genatossio said she would like to see the Planning Board take on more responsibility. Planner DeGirolamo pointed out that it is very rare if the board has every member at every meeting. Second, he feels that the salary that was listed, $20,000, is not a great amount or expense for the town to have a Planning Director. He feels that there should be someone other than the Planning Board to be on site to see what is happening. He can't see the Planning Board handling the job that Paul and Chad did. He pointed out that this town is growing rapidly. He agrees with the statement that the Planning Board should get into a little more depth. Chairman Genatossio said she feels that the board gets too dependent on a Planning Director. The board does not know Planning Board's minutes Page 5 June 8, 1983 enough about what is going on in a subdivision until it is too late. She feels the board should obtain more information and spend more time on issues because it is a board vote. It was pointed out that the town now has an engineer to inspect work within subdivisions. It was pointed out that Paul Folkman did not like the idea of having the responsibility of approving subdivisions and roads. He, Chad, and Bert used to make inspections together. Planner Flynn also feels the board does not need a Planning Director. Everything should be done at Wednesday night meet- ings. The DPW Director should communicate with the board. Motion: If the DPW Director is going to make a decision that will affect the Planning Board, he should inform the board of it. (DeGirolamo - Doucette, all in favor) VOTED There was discussion regarding tightening up on the Water Supply Protection District. The lots should be larger within a subdivision. (Flynn - Doucette, all in favor) VOTED In reference to Canoe River Estates, it was pointed out that on Dec. 15, 1982, the Planning Director informed the board that the passbook had been released. The town's records indicate that there should be a balance of $10,600. There is a punch list of items that need to be corrected. Motion: To send a letter to the bank requesting the status of the passbook referencing the letter dated November 23, 1982. (Fiore - Doucette, all in favor) VOTED In reference to Strawberry Meadows, it was pointed out that Allen Willis is not going to complete the roadway until the last driveway is in. He stated that 90 days after the driveway is in, he will have the roadway completed. The DPW Director said that 90 days is a long time. The items that need to be installed are the granite curbing, the street light, and the fire box. Chairman Genatossio asked if the board would like to come up with a different date. The builder will have the driveway installed in 30 days. Motion: To send a letter to Allen Willis stating that he has 30 days in which to complete the subdivision. This 30 days will commence when the developer has completed the driveway. The board will receive.a letter from the developer when he has installed the driveway.
