This section consisted of: The Town Hall, The Police Station, The Fire Station, The Library, The Municipal Airport, and The Sanitary Landfill. 2. Paul Folkman - Subcommittee B2 - Services & Facilities Alex Foster and Rick Bliss will be working on the Airport master plan. Their goal is to discuss what is written and condense it to make a summary statement of approximately three pages. Paul and Bob Morrison will be working on the water master plan. Paul suggested reading other master plans to get a feel for what a master plan is suppose to do. The time frame proposed is to complete the seven items by July 1, 1983. Paul explained that once their sections are completed, they will submit them to the full Planning Board. The board will review their recommendations. This is expected to occur over the summer. 3. Kenneth Parsons - Subcommittee Cl - Natural Resources Profile This committee's general comments are as follows: The Soil Conservation Service Analysis and the studies by Whitman & Howard be adopted as the basis for determining the suitability for future development. The SCSA be used for the guidelines for develop- ing an on-site study on the parcels to be the final determination of future growth. However, from a conceptual and planning standpoint, more detailed studies should supersede. Also they would like to write a letter to Whitman & Howard relative to water resources asking: 1. Their response relative to the potential of utilizing bedrock as a water resource and the feasibility of such. 2. Thoughts relative to the possible construction of a water reservoir between East Street and Maple Street along the Canoe River. 3. The subcommittee's general comments regarding slopes are: They recommend that except within a few isolated portions of town, i.e., the northeast section—Bird Road and Stearns Avenue —that slopes and topography do not present a problem to development. However, builders and developers should be encouraged to utilize the natural topography and contours to afford a project that is aesthetically pleasing. PUD and Cluster Developments would allow for a better utilization of exist- ing topography. In reference to drainage, they suggested using open ditches. 4. Joseph Brugliera - Subcommittee Al - Population & Housing This committee was working on the growth charts for population increases and will be working on the number of new housing units added each year from 1970 to 1980. At their next meeting, they will identify neighbor- hoods. They have completed the concensus breakdown of the town's popula- tion. They will project the population growth to the year 2,000.
