This land is located in the General Business zone. Mr. Tartufo presented the board with booklets entitled License Application: Information. He said that they investigated the area and chose this location because of the easy accessibility, the parking facilities, it is set back from the road, and it is near the industrial park. They feei it is a unique site for the above mentioned reasons and <because `this site is located at the inter- section of the town's two major access roads. This proposed electronic game center would be a family amusement center. They have talked to the abutters and feel that they received a positive imput from them. They said they have an electronic game center in Raynham which is located on Route 138. They; said it was a vacant building which was vandalized. They renovated this build- ing. They have received letters from abutters saying how well they did. They would like to make it a recreation center, i.e. batting cages, ice cream parlor. They"feel they run aigood operation and have given'aiot to the community. They donate one days income to a recreational use. This would also be done in Mansfield. The have a maintenance person there everyday. They have $165,000 ` worth of equipment in Raynham. They allow no horseplay, and it is not a hangout. They have not had any problems since the 'game center opened one year ago. There is no smoking, drinking, or eating allowed, and school age children are not allowed during school hours'. All the equipment is; approved by the Bureau of Standards.`- i 4rPl6nner Parsons entered the meeting. The age of the people going, to the center depends onc.the.time of day. From 4 P.M. to 6:30 there are people from 13 to 17; after 7:00 to about 9:30 there are high school people. On Friday evenings there are junior high kids, and on Saturday evenings there are older couples. Sunday is family day. There busiest days are on the weekends, and the busiest hours are from 6:00 to 9:30. During a busy period, there are approximately 60 to 70 people in the center. During off hours, they have 'older people come in; some are wheelchair people. They, said that when they first opened their center in Raynham, they employed a policeman on Friday nights. This really wasn't necessary so they no longer have a policeman on Friday nights. Motion: To recommend in favor of this variance to the Zoning Board of x Appeals. The would like to add ailaboratory to assemble and package nutritional and dietary aids. These would then be delivered to the home of the patients;. They have to isolate the laboratory center, and they have to provide separate parking. The present parking facilities are only adequate for their present use. They would like z to put their ;parking lot right up to the property line; therefore, they would f not have the%required 5 foot buffer area. They would like to add 19 parking spaces. The ;Foxboro Company; owns the abutting property. They have contacted Cabot, Cabot & Forbes, who responded positively. Motion:_ To recommend in favor of the variance to the Zoning Board of Appeals. (DeGirolamo:- Flynn, all in favor) VOTED 10. Variance - Reinhold E. Nordlund Mr. Nordlund`is requesting a variance to convert an existing single family dwelling at 70 Pleasant Street into ':a two family dwelling.; The existing house does not meet minimum requirements for front, rear, and side yard set backs. B, allows for the con- version of a'single family dwelling ;to a two familydwelling.
