1 -he application for appointment to the Historical Commidsion submitted by Pat
Cataloni was considered. It was decided to invite Ms. Cataloni to the next meeting.
Connie Johnson noted that she had been contacted by Clara Flint, president of the
Mansfield Historical Society, in regards to the inventory forms completed by Betsy
Pyne. Ms. Flint felt that there were many errors on them. It was decidedthat many
of these "errors" constitute a difference of opinion, and that the forms sent in to 0
the Massachusetts Historical Commission office in Boston will not be altered at this
time. It was felt that rdferences to mistakes confusing the Unitarian and Universal-
ist churches, an omission of th4 fact that one of these churches had a bell cast by
Paul Revere, and an error in the boundaries of Whiteville should be corrected. No-
tations of the Society's corrdctions will be made on the Commission's copies of the
forms. It was also noted that the completed form on the Bates house at 101 No. Main
contained some very serious errors. This form has not yet been dent to Boston and
will have to be re -done. It was decided that in the future all forms being submitted
to the Boston office should be carefully looked over before being sent or approved.
Connie Johnson read a rough draft of a letter to Mr. Christopher Clancy, vice-pres-
ident of Cabot, Cabot and Forbes, asking for funding to complete the remaining
inventory. The Commission members spent some time working over the letter to make
sure that the wording was clear, concise and accurate. Charles Azarian also volun-
teered to go to the Cabot, Cabot and Forbes Industrial Park and get a list of busi-
nesses and persons to contact who might also be asked to assist with funding.
"`he meeting adjourned at 9:12.
