(fP'i'a_rgarrett O'Connell, secretary) Present: Pat Cataloni Connie Johnson, chairperson f David Loving Margaret O'Connell, r;ocretary 1318 East Street Mansfield, MA January 6, 1983 Connie Johnson, Chrmn, Mansfield Historical, Commission Town Hall Mansfield, Mb Madame Chairperson: I terribly regret having to make the decision to resign from the Mansfield Historical Commission, For the last four or five months I have thought (and fought within myself) about near- ly nothing else, I LOVED working on and with the Commission to bring the history of this town back to life for the residents -- and I hope that ,you know that, But I sadly feel I cannot for- mally continue within the confines of the current situation. We have ALI, (past AND present members) labored far beyond what was asked or expected of us without anyone even asking us to, because of our enthusiasm for our research and for the town. But now there is no discovery, and no enthusiasm, It isn't that we should ALWAYS be +upt and doing something exciting -- P m aware that mundane, secretarial affairs must be handled, too; but the complete lack of COMMUNICATION inviting involvement, coupled with the continuous complaints that ",,.no one does anything but two people," has made the Commission intolerable for me. I should very much like to continue to be as active as Andy Barr (with ,your permission, of course), and perhaps if a special project comes along that might need my tspecial expertiset I hope that you will call on me. I would be VERY glad to assist, Regretfully, I must submit my formal resignation from this Mansfield Historical Commission this sixth day of January, 1983,
