Minutes of the meeting September 17, 1987
The meeting commenced at 7:40 pm.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted
by all. Present at the meeting were Pat Cataloni, Barbara
Orlando, Jean Nordbuck, and Lee White.
Mr. & Mrs. Vickery of'Chruch Street have donated many old deeds
for us to review.
Maureen Cooke has resigned as co-chairman and we will be
seeking someone to replace her in that position.
The Mansfield women of Today have contacted us re: a cook-
-book they are publishing to raise funds for the new library.
They would like us to collaborate with them on the history
of Mansfield for insertion in the cookbook.
Richard Lewis of the Conservation committee contacted us to
request that we write a letter endorsing the state':s "Clean
Lakes" program so that Sweet's Pond can be restored as a
quality waterway. Barbara Orlando will send a letter to that
effect in April.
Jean Nordbuck applied for a Mass Arts Lottery grant to help us
pay for plaques for historic homes. We were turned down for
our7re.quest of $650 to finance this. We have decided to reap-
ply for only $300 for the 1988 Lottery.
We voted to postpone the meeting of October 1 to October 15 --
at which time wewill choose homes on North Main and South
Main to be considered for plaques. We will aslo compose a
letter asking homeowners if they wish to have a plaque; and
if they would be willing to participate in cost.
The meeting adjourned at 8;56 pm
Respectfully Submitted,
Varbara Orlando, Secretary
