Municipal Building Committee's meeting of October 23, 1986
Present: R. Verzola
S. MacCaffrie
D. Amsden

Meeting called to order at 7:35 p.m. Discussed our previous
meeting with the Planning Board. Voted to send a letter stating
objection to certain regulation requirements that they felt may
be necessary for approval. Moved by A. Salachi, seconded by R.
Verzola. Voted 4 - 0
Accepted a motion by Alex Salachi that letter be sent regarding
Planning Director's attempt to have meeting notice removed.
Seconded.by S. MacCaffrie who relinquished chair for discussion
on this matter. Voted 4 - 0
Motion made by D. Amsden to accept billing from Design Part-
nership up to 75% of project total broken out between Library
and Council for Aging. Seconded by A Salachi. Voted 4 - 0
Discussed new library details, type 3 heavy timber construction,
some open space and some closed, heat system should be baseboard
for main heat, air conditioned, over insulated where possible,
asphalt shingles with rubber membrane on flat areas, masonry
exterior with some possible clapboard areas.
Architect was instructed to continue with basic design
presented. Discussed bid process and that it was felt that con-
struction could begin around the first of October with completion
one year later.
Architect was instructed to have all materials ready for
second week in December so that presentations could start to
be made with finalized plans and estimates.
Meeting adjourned at 9:35 p.m., next meeting scheduled for
November 10, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. at the library.
