Facility Requests: Sherri asked the board if they wanted to update any of the fees on the 2017 field reservation form. Sherri presented a history of the pricing changes. Mike Weber felt the fees should be raised as the turf hadn't had in increase in 3 years and the grass, 10 years. He felt many club teams that would be paying this can afford to pay. As of now, the $350 maintenance fee will remain in place for groups where it may need to be charged. The charging of that fee will be at the discretion of the Director, Sherri Gurnon. Motion: By Kevin Kemp to raise the Tier 3 charges for the turf field from $170 to $185 per block. Seconded by Mike Weber. Motion passes, 3-0. Old Business: -Open Space and Recreation Plan workshops being scheduled and Recreation members are requested to attend. -The Arts and Craft Show door entrance fee intake increased by about $100. Kevin felt that the date was good as he felt being closer to Christmas makes people more ready to shop. Ed asked if the date would remain at this time or return to the old date which was the first week of November versus the 3`d week. Sherri reminded the board that the volleyball team bumped them due to playoffs 3 years ago and if they try to keep the first week, we would run the risk of being bumped again. Sherri said there were new vendors and no complaints so she feels that for now, the date will remain the 3`d week of November. -Memorial Park Playground contracts are signed and paid for. They will be starting construction in the spring. -Sherri informed the board that CIP, on 11/29/16, filled our request of $75,000 to dedicate to updating the Plymouth Street Playground. She stated that there is $25,000 in the recreation revolving fund that will be added to the CIP money giving a total of $100,000. Kevin asked if there were any plans drawn up or anything being done to start the project, and Sherri said that she will meet with the same contractor that is doing the Memorial Park Playground to see what options there are for a $100,000 playground. 6. New Business: -A Pickleball League has been added and being held at the Brown Billone Club. -Airport Commission approved the preschool classes being held at an open space they had. -Sherri shared the 5 year plan she submitted to the CIP, but asked the board if they had any ideas they wanted to add. Ed Westhaver wants to look into whether it's an option to put light lights up at Memorial Park. If there is, he would like to add that to the 5 year plan. Kevin suggested putting a list out to the town to ask what they would like to see accomplished in 5 years. It was recommended to put the list in the Parks and Recreation Program Guide that comes out mid- February to all Mansfield Residents. It would ask for resident's feedback on what they see as important. 7. Next Commission Meetin¢: Monday, February 13, 2017 6:00 PM. To be held at the Town Hall. 8. Motion: By Mike Weber to adjourn.
