BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING - MAY 7, 2016

Secretary's report. Minutes of the March meeting were reviewed ailudiapproved

Treasurer's report. Nancy has prepared a report and Marianne, isprepaniY g to,lgk—ewer as
treasurer.
Librarian's reports. The librarians' reports were reviewed and discussed.
OLD BUSINESS
Long range planning survey. The library has received 275 responses to the long range
planning survey. The free portion of the Survey Monkey program only provides 100 responses so
the library will upgrade its subscription ($100).
NEW BUSINESS
Budget. The library's budget was passed with no major changes. Some utilities were
slightly reduced but the book budget remains intact, along with 4-5% increases for personnel and
other operating expenses.
RFID checkouts. Sails is working closely with a company to help member libraries
implement automated checkouts. The cost will be approximately $50,000 which will include
tagging all materials, sensor pads, and three security gates. Catherine is thinking of one unit at the
front desk and another unit elsewhere for self checkouts. The library is waiting for a finalized bid
and will use MEG funds for the cost.
Next meeting. June 11, 2016. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
