The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Robert Krentzman,-,

1. Vote to approve November IDC meeting minutes
MOTION to approve the minutes (M Cummings/K Cummings).Abstention (Moran). Motion
passed.
2. Introduction to new IDC member Nancy Wall
N Wall is on beautification committee, non-profit gift fund, and has chaired the mural
committee. Krentzman provided Wall with an update on what the IDC has been working on
(Collaboration with Mansfield High School, Why Mansfield, Survey, invited to speak with
selectman).
3. Report on survey progress
Distribution of the survey- The IDC will do a final push to distribute the survey to more
participants. The newspapers will be contacted. D Moran will send the press release to the
Mansfield News. N Wall will contact the downtown businesses and post flyers around town.
Krentzman will ask to have the survey posted on the listsery one more time. All members will
post the survey on their social media pages.
Results- The survey has received a large amount of responses from the community. A majority
of the respondents do not work in Mansfield, but would like to see more businesses in town.
Respondents had no interest in fitness centers, yoga/salsa studios, or dance halls. Respondents
wanted a cinema, whole foods, trader joes, indian restaurants, coffee shops, something for kids,
and bagel shops. Respondents expressed a desire for more mom and pop shops and less
franchises. It was suggested to make WiFi available downtown as well as to create art galleries
in vacant buildings on main street. Other suggestions included turning the fire station into a
parking lot, painting main street green, and adding more restaurants that have "date" appeal.
4. Finance Committee
The finance committee wants to meet with the IDC to discuss putting money into attracting
businesses.
5. Report on MHS progress
4 students have contacted the IDC looking to volunteer in January. Furthermore, K Cummings
{ will revisit the MHS statistics class in January to analyze the survey data.
6. Meeting with selectman
Krentzman will meet with the selectman this January and discuss our methodology and results
from the survey.
