Cultural District Program
There was a consensus that the Downtown Subcommittee is interested in working
with the Cultural Council on an application to become a Cultural District.
The process of applying for the Cultural District looks like it will provide us with a
useful process and learning opportunity even if Main Street Mansfield, has yet to
become a strong applicant for a Cultural District. It could help us map where we
want to go.

Nancy will meet with Mansfield Cultural Council (MCC).
Details matter, like benches on the sidewalk
Downtown Focus Groups
Krista is happy to lead the focus groups after the end of the semester. Owner of
Mansfield Shredding is enthusiastic about Downtown and would be a good
participant in a focus group
Questions:
• What are the factors that led you to choose to locate your business in
Downtown Mansfield?
• What are the advantages of Downtown Mansfield as a place for your
business?
• What are the challenges?
• What ideas do you have to improve Downtown?
• What kinds of businesses would you like to see more of Downtown? What
would complement your business?

We need a graphic for Downtown and possibly a separate one for the IDC
Downtown Subcommittee.
