The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from June 18, 2015.
Dogs
• Jeff reported that David Aristide's court case, which was scheduled for August, has been
postponed.
• Carol agreed to contact Town Manager and/or town counsel again to inquire about
acquiring Aristide's dogs as shelter dogs so that they may be adopted.
• Jeff said there's a possibility for two of Aristide's adult dogs to go to a foster home, with
the foster parents liopipg to adopt if the dogs become available.
Maintenance`
• The alarm sensor in the large playroom has become disconnected, so the alarm can't be
set. Jeff will let Gary know.
• The utility sink continues to leak. Gary is aware of it, said Jeff.
• The door in the kennel quarantine still needs repair, after being chewed by an out-of-town
dog. Gary is aware of it, said Jeff.
• The screen in the small playroom continues to come loose. Jeff said he knows how to
make adjustments so the screen will stay in its track.

Veterinary
• Jeff has printed copies of the new vet exam report form, in the hope of bringing back
specific exam details from vet exams.
• Jeff will transport Dobby and Minihaha to Dr. Trapani for dental exams.
• Dr. Trapani reports that Gizmo's condition can be aggravated by stress. Ana will talk
with Denise about how best to handle Gizmo.
Miscellaneous
• With the unusually large number of kittens to be adopted, and the applications that have
been coming in, Mary asked to review adoption criteria. The consensus was that for
kitten adoptions, a good vet history from the applicant is important.
• There's a feral cat colony on Francis Avenue, near a trailer/container truck park. Mass
Cats will be involved in T/N/R program.
