The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from September, 2015. Approved: 4/0
Dogs
• Jeff reported that Fiona is scheduled for an echocardiogram at Tufts in mid-November.
• The beagle will be picked up by his owner this weekend.
• Katy will go to a Pittie rescue this weekend.
Veterinary
We discussed and agreed to test stool samples on cats before they are allowed to leave the
quarantine room. This is an attempt to control coccidia that might come into the shelter.
Additionally, Jeff and the members agreed that all cats, even those surrendered, should have
a short stay in quarantine before being put into the main room or playrooms.
Miscellaneous
• Stephanie Putnam will again organize a shelter float for the town's holiday parade,
and she Will be collecting candy soon.
• An "energy healer" has been visiting various shifts to work with the animals.
Various shifts have complained about her presence. Sharon agreed to speak with her
to ask her to limit her visits to Saturday morning.
