1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm.
2. Minutes of the Recreation Commission Meeting from April 25, 2016.
Motion: By Mike Weber to approve the Recreation Commission Meeting minutes
from April 25, 2016. Seconded by Ed Westhaver. Motion passes, 4-0.
3. Visitors:
• Jen Morris, Erin Botelho, and Megan Gonzalez discuss the progress the group has
made to date. The playground ground breaking is slated to begin in September 2016.
The group distributed a rendering of the proposed playground equipment and is
looking for additional Commission input.
4. Facility Requests:
The Commission review and approve the following facility reservations,
• Boy Scouts Pack 13- Annual Rocket Launch, Plymouth Street, June 19, 1:00-5:00p
• Slow White Ultimate Frisbee- Hutchason Field, June 11/12
• QMS Field Day- Memorial Park, June 13&15, 7:00a -2:00p
6. Old Business:
• Open Space and Recreation Plan -workshop to be scheduled.
New Business:
• Discussion regarding the Public Nuisance by-laws in regard to a dog complaint at the
Plymouth Street facility. The Commission agree no further action needs to be taken
and support the existing Public Nuisance by-laws. It is recommended the by-laws be
posted at Plymouth Street and Memorial Park in addition to the non -emergent police
phone number available on the posting.
The Norton Rail Trail CIP funds were withdrawn with the former design plans to be
used going forward with the development of the Mansfield portion.
8. Next Commission Meeting: Tuesday, June 21, 2016 6:00pm, Town Hall.
9. Motion: By Linda McCabe to adjourn. Seconded by Ed Westhaver.
Motion passes, 4-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:50pm.
