Seconded by Ed Westhaver. Motion passes, 4-0. 3. Facility Requests: -Foxboro Regional Charter School is inquiring about use of the Plymouth Street fields for Boys and Girls quarter -final playoff games. 4. Visitors: -At 6:15pm, Vanessa Marascio, Brian Krentzman and Matthew Kiregczyk from the Mansfield High School's National Honor Society came to explain their service project they need to do as a member of the group. They asked if they can clean up Memorial Park and add wooden benches that they will paint green and white. They are responsible for the fundraising which they will do through a can drive. They would like to complete it by the end of November. Sherri asked that they send her a proposal that included the type of benches they were going to order. Sherri also mentioned that since the playground is going to be under construction in the spring that the benches would go out at that time and we can store them for the group until then. -At 6:30pm, Megan Crotty, Jen Morris and Erin Botelho from Friends of Memorial Park (FOMP) came to give an update and discuss the financials of the group that were requested by Sherri and the commission. Jen said that they had a change in their original plan and that pushed the date of the construction to the spring. Megan said she was upset that they were not informed of $25,000 that were in an account that they wanted to have to further their goal in monies raised and allow them to get other items they wanted for the playground. Sherri stated that that fund supports all 7 of the parks and says that it's for "park related equipment" not just for Memorial Park as FOMP had assumed. Mitch and Sherri both stated that the Plymouth Street playground needs attention and the money is for that and for any upcoming issues with the other parks. Mitch said that FOMP, RecComm and the Recreation Department have to work together to make this project successful. Mitch apologized if FOMP felt there were some miscommunications, but feels that FOMP needs to be aware that 80% of the money raised for the playground and the land was given to the group by the town, needs to be made known to everyone that FOMP is in communication with especially on their Facebook page. Jen mentioned that they are short about $3,000 to have all the money they need to sign the Contract with the builder. Ed asked if they had any fundraisers coining up that could cover Shortage. Jen stated that they had the "Turkey Trot" which raises $5,000-7,000. Ed suggested they contact Mike Ahern to get an extension on the contract until after the event and they will then have all the money needed to sign the contract. -Megan asked if the CIP money requested this year will go to FOMP, and Sherri said the request is directed for the update of the Plymouth Street Playground. -Jen asked if there can be a sign for the playground that is like the other signs around town for the library, town hall, etc. and some landscaping around it. Sherri said that she was sure that would be possible. She also mentioned that the rock wall is crumbling especially in an area that fencing will be attaching to the rock wall. Sherri said that DPW will address that when the time comes. 4. Old Business: -Open Space and Recreation Plan -members from the RecComm are requested.
