The meeting opened at 6:31pm at the Mansfield Town Hall
The Kaestle Boos Architects will be presenting to Board of Selectman tonight.
East Street Complex: At DD stage to be completed next week. DD plans 100% next week.
Started to remove material. Going to screen material on site. Site plan is not 100% yet.
Screen 10-20,000 yards in the next days.
Public Safety Budget:
Discussed the soft cost figure, Self -performed work. On site, meeting with light dept, taking all
poles down and replacing with underground utilities. Project being funded through light dept,
still need to get a figure from Verizon. Kurt started to order water mains to be relocated this
summer. New employee started today to help Mike out.
General discussion of list of contractors reviewing pre -qualifications.
If we don't get enough applicants we can put it out again for advertisement.
Schedule:
Running both buildings concurrently. General discussion about the time frame of both buildings.
Shorten GC timeline by a year (potentially). Problem with moving the people within the current
buildings.
It cuts down overhead costs. Possibility of putting administrative staff in trailers. Looking at 32
months if buildings done separately, 18 months done concurrently.
General discussion regarding space occupancy issues, etc.
Neal suggests researching again how we can save the town 1 million dollars by looking at
options of building both at same time.
Neal: Are the water dept. bays possible to use? Mark: could be for some, would probably take
the whole area.
Bob: put out a public ad for space to lease in town. Everyone likes that idea.
May need to think about the Dispatch Center as well.

Mike: a thought was to build a temporary shed across the street for salt.
Mark: Would the rental be done before the bid process?
Jeff Alberti: we can investigate with general contractor, may be able to get a credit from general
conditions if the project finishes sooner than planned.
Mark: if foundations are in in November, 2017, would they be in for next winter and the answer
is yes by Jeff Alberti.
Joe Milani will work on the figures/time frame.
