Illegal septic repair, 1338/1340 East Street: Scott received a complaint about raw sewage being pumped into the woods in back of 1338/1340 East Street. He found 2 workers, one an apprentice plumber, had pumped % of the septic tank into the woods (600 to 700 gals) and they were illegally repairing a failed septic system. They were told to stop all work and were told to clean up and remove the contaminated soil. The owner will hire an engineer and have a new system designed. Ray wanted to know it there was any way to fine the workers. Scott said to fine them would require Town Council and probably would cost the town more than the actual fine.
